Ferndale Project
This spacious four-bedroom home was full of potential, with generous rooms and a beautifully expansive garden, but inside, it felt dated and dark. Heavy cabinetry, a dark timber ceiling in the living room, and an overall somber colour palette made the home feel less welcoming than it should have.
Instead of a full-scale renovation, we focused on thoughtful, budget-friendly updates to breathe new life into the space. The entire interior and exterior were repainted in a light, cohesive palette, instantly brightening the home. Ceilings were refreshed in a crisp eggshell white, opening up each room and creating a sense of calm.
In the kitchen, a full remodel wasn’t in the cards, so we opted for high-impact changes. The walls were painted in a soft duck egg blue, adding a gentle, coastal touch. The original veneer cabinetry was repurposed and finished in arctic white, completely transforming the space into something clean, light, and modern, all without a major spend.
Outside, the transformation continued. The red brick exterior was whitewashed, and cream walls were swapped for a soft duck egg blue to echo the kitchen’s fresh vibe. The terracotta roof was coated in a sleek gunmetal grey, giving the facade a modern, coastal-inspired refresh that tied the whole look together.
The result? A light, welcoming home that feels effortlessly stylish, proof that with the right approach, small changes can have a big impact.
